I have been seeing ducks come and go from the pond as Fall gets underway but I was never able to get a good enough look to see what kind they were. This morning I was more careful and was rewarded with a couple of quick pictures of wood ducks.

Surprisingly, I learned there was actually a small flock of about 8-10 ducks enjoying a quiet morning, gliding around in the water. They are really good at hiding. I thought there was just one, or maybe two at the most until they all flew away just seconds after I took a few pictures. I only discovered the image with more than one duck in it after I got it on my computer. I didn’t even see them out there when I took the photo. Aren’t they pretty?
